SUBJECT. APPOINTMENT TO HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
DATE: November 28, 2017
BACKGROUND: Policies and Procedures for Boards, Commissions, and Committees adopted
by City Council require that appointments be made at the second regular City Council meeting in
June.
STATUS OF ISSUE: On June 26, 2016, Skipper Steely was appointed to serve on the Historic
Preservation Commission, Mr. Steely resigned from the HPC on October 26, 2017, leaving an
unexpired term of June 30, 2018. Having previously served on the Historic Preservation
Con,imission, Mr. Coyle expressed an interest in serving on the cornFission and has submitted an
application.
RECOMMENDATION: Appoint Matthew Coyle to serve the unexpired term of Mr. Steely on
the Historic Preservation Commission.
