2001-199-RES APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO 2 TO CONTRACT WITH RICHARD DRAKE CONSTRUCTION CO FOR SITE WORK AROUND NESTED T-HANGAR AT COX FIELD AIRPORT
RESOLUTION NO. 2001-199
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 2 TO THE
CONTRACT WITH RICHARD DRAKE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR
PREPARATION OF SITE WORK AROUND THE NEW NESTED T-
HANGAR AT COX FIELD AIRPORT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND
PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 14th day of May,
2001, in Resolution No. 2001-068, award the contract for "Cox Field Airport Preparation of Site
Work Around New Nested T-Hangar" Project to Richard Drake Construction; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 10th day of
September, 2001, in Resolution No. 2001-147, approve and authorize the execution of Change
Order NO.1 to increase the quantity of earthwork and provide for the adjustment of the water line
in conflict with the proposed storm sewer, providing for a net increase of $19,407.00 in the
contract price, for a total contract price of $115,152.00; and,
WHEREAS, the City Engineer, Shawn Napier, acting as project engineer, recommends
the further amendment of the contract for said project to extend the storm sewer to drain the area
west of the new nested T-hangar, providing for a net increase of$3,012.oo in the contract price,
for a total contract price of $118, 164.00; and,
WHEREAS, the form of Change Order No.2, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should, in
all things, be approved, and the Mayor should be authorized to execute the same; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the fmdings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
things approved.
Section 2. That the form of Change Order No.2 to the Contract with Richard Drake
Construction Company for the "Cox Field Airport Preparation of Site Work Around New Nested
T -Hangar Project," attached hereto as Exhibit A, to extend the storm sewer to drain the area west
of the new nested T-hangar, providing for a net increase of $3,012.00 in the contract price, for
a total contract price of $118,164.00, be, and the same is hereby, approved.
Section 3. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on
behalf of the City of Paris, said Change Order No.2, upon the terms and conditions and in the
form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
