2001-169-RES APPROVING/AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF MEDICAL TRANSPORT AGREEMENT WITH CHILDREN'S MEDICAL CENTER OF DALLAS
RESOLUTION NO. 2001-169
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
A MEDICAL TRANSPORT AGREEMENT WITH CHILDREN'S MEDICAL
CENTER OF DALLAS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS
RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Children's Medical Center of Dallas has requested that the City of Paris,
by and through its Emergency Medical Service, provide non-emergency transport of patients to
Cox Field Airport; and,
WHEREAS, the form of the contract with Children's Medical Center of Dallas, attached
hereto as Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor should be authorized to
execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2. That the form of the contract between the City of Paris and Children's Medical
Center of Dallas for non-emergency transport of patients to Cox Field Airport, attached hereto as
Exhibit A, be, and the same is hereby, approved.
Section 3. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on
behalf of the City of Paris, the contract with Children's Medical Center, under the terms and
conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:
STATE OF TEXAS
THAT, the CITY OF PARIS, Paris, Texas, a municipal corporation, acting by and through
its Mayor, duly authorized, hereafter called CITY, and CHILDREN'S MEDICAL CENTER OF
DALLAS, Dallas, Texas, acting by and through its Chief Executive Officer, duly authorized,
hereafter called HOSPITAL, do hereby contract and agree as follows:
1. CITY, by and through its Emergency Medical Service, agrees to furnish for HOSPITAL
transfer service of patients from local hospitals to Cox Field Airport, Paris, Texas.
2. CITY will bill HOSPITAL at the rates established annually by City ordinance.
3. HOSPITAL agrees, after receipt of a billing statement, to process payment within thirty
(30) days.
4. It is hereby mutually agreed that either party may unilaterally terminate this contract after
giving thirty (30) days written notice to the other party.
