BACKGROUND: Policies and Procedures for Boards, Commissions, and Committees adopted
by City Council require that appointments be made at the second regular City Council meeting in
June.
STA'l"US OF ISSLJE: In July 2017, Mustafa Hashmi was appointed to fill the unexpired term of
Mike Folmar. OnJanuary 9, 201K Mr. flashnii resigned from P&Z leaving an unexpired term of
.June 10, 2018. Benny Plata has expressed an interest to serve on the Planning and Zoning
Corninission. and Submitted an application in September. Mr. Plata has served on the
Commission in the past, as well as on the City Council,
