Item No. 16 <br />TO: City Council <br />John Godwin, City Manager <br />FROM: Carla Easton, PE, City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: PUBLIC HEARING AND GRANT CLOSE OUT FOR THE 2016 TxCDBG <br />DOWNTOWN SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT PROJECT <br />DATE: January 15, 2017' <br />BACKGROUND: In 2016, The City was awarded a grant through the Texas Capital Fund <br />Community Development Block Grant Main Street Program for $150,000 to reconstruct <br />sidewalks in downtown. The project included replacement of sidewalks along the south side of <br />Lamar from North Main St to I" NE, and also the west side of South Main St from Kaufi-nan to <br />Austin. The project is complete and the grant will be ready to close out upon final payment to <br />the contractor. <br />STATUS OF ISSUE: The grant requires a public hearing to receive comments regarding the <br />project prior to close out. <br />BUDGET: Funds are available in the grant fund and reimbursable through the Texas Capital <br />Fund' Community Development Block Grant Main Street Program. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Conduct a public hearing, discuss and authorize the City Manager to <br />close out the 2016 TxCDBG Downtown Sidewalk grant, <br />
