DOWNTOWN SIDEWALK REPLACEMENT PROJECT

BACKGROUND: In 2016, The City was awarded a grant through the Texas Capital Fund
Community Development Block Grant Main Street Program for $150,000 to reconstruct
sidewalks in downtown. The project included replacement of sidewalks along the south side of
Lamar from North Main St to I" NE, and also the west side of South Main St from Kaufi-nan to
Austin. The project is complete and the grant will be ready to close out upon final payment to
the contractor.
STATUS OF ISSUE: The grant requires a public hearing to receive comments regarding the
project prior to close out.
BUDGET: Funds are available in the grant fund and reimbursable through the Texas Capital
Fund' Community Development Block Grant Main Street Program.
RECOMMENDATION: Conduct a public hearing, discuss and authorize the City Manager to
close out the 2016 TxCDBG Downtown Sidewalk grant,
