BACKGROUND: This is the annual bid for roadway materials to be used by the Street, Water
Distribution, Sewer Maintenance, and Parks Divisions. The materials competitively bid include
Aggregate Cover Stone (Type B, Grade 4, Uncoated); Aggregate Cover Stone (Type B, Grade 5,
Coated); Aggregate Cover Stone (Type B, Grade 5, Uncoated); Aggregate Cover Stone
(Modified, Grade 51, Uncoated); Flexible Base Material (White Rock); Hot Mix Cold Laid
Asphalt, "Type "A" (Coarse Base) Material; Hot Mix Cold Laid Asphalt, Type "B" (Fine Base)
Material; Hot Mix Cold Laid Asphalt, Type "D" (Fine Mixture) Material; Sand; Top Soil; CRS -
2 Emulsion Asphalt; SS -1 Emulsion Asphalt (Tack Oil); Portland Cement Concrete "Class A" (5
sack); Portland Cement Concrete "Class C" (6 sack); Grout 5 sack; Grout 6 sack.
The following item has been rejected and will be rebid: Flexible: Base Material (Red Rock),
STATUS OF ISSUE: The City of Paris Public Works Department has received sealed bids for
street materials and would like to award bids to the lowest bidder for each material. The bid
tabulation sheet is attached for details of the bids and materials, with low bids highlighted. Eight
vendors were directly solicited; six vendors provided low bids for at least one material type.
BUDGET: Monies are budgeted in the Street, Water Distribution, Sewer Maintenance, and Park
Divisions.
RECOMMENDATION: Award bids as indicated in attachment.

Ergon - Federal Environmental) Fee will be added to above prices at a rate of $.49770/ton for asphalt and polymer loads, or $,00150/gal for
emulsion loads. Bid is for full transport loads of 5,500 gallons. Freight is based on a full transport load, even if a full load of material is, not
ordered. The common carrier bills demurrage at $80 per hr. after the second hr. Return freight is 1/2 of the outgoing tariff. Pump and
hose charge is $90 per load.
