C. Also present was Carla Easton, City Engineer; Stephanie Harris, City Attorney:
Triniti Frazier, City Staff, and concerned citizens,

Motion was made by Louise Hagood, seconded by Jerry Haning to approve minutes -l"Orthe
November 7, 2017 meeting, Motion carried 4-0.
3. Public hearing to consider and take action on the petition ql'Alaierick Priest on behalf (,#'
Gaij, Pried on Lot 5, Block 1, qf the Pine Wit 'Addition, beim,,, located (it 1406 Pine Blqlf
Street.
A. Section 11. 5-3 ((.)(3)qflhe Fence Ordinance ivhich proi,,ides that "For all fences,
the installing party shall construct the fence u4th the post .side or "bad side "./acing
the installing, party's, property so that the side of the fence facing at#(Iceni
properties or the public right-Qf-way does neat contain the structure andlor support
of theftnee. This, provision shall apply to both side yard and rear.yardftnces that
face a public right-Qf-way, park school, or other public area- ". "
The applicant is asking, to install the proposed fence with the post side or "bad sid( , "fticing
the exterior, aii,qyftom hispropeqy.
Public hearing was declared open.
A. One individual spoke in favor of the petition.
Maverick. Priest, 1406 Pine Bluff, Paris, Texas, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr.
Priest stated that his neighbors on both sides have fences and in order to have access
to construct his fence the "bad side" would need to face his neighbors, Mr. Priest
stated that he has aflutter from his neighbor on the West side of his property which
states that she is A with his request as long as her fence is not affected. Mr. Priest
further stated a 2 -foot gap would be created that no one would have access, to except
rodents and high grass. Mr. Priest showed the board pictures of the condition of the
neighboring property that is, not usable, Mr. Priest further stated he hopes the board
will approve this variance request.
B. No one spoke in opposition of the petition.
Public hearing was declared closed.
Motion was made by Jerry planing, seconded by Louise Hagood to approve the variance
request. Motion carried 4-0.
