RESOLUTION NO. 2005-105
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING AND APPROVING THE LOVE CIVIC
CENTER, CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF LAMAR COUNTY, BUDGET
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR OCTOBER 1, 2005, TO SEPTEMBER 30, 2006;
MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE
SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Love Civic Center, Chamber of Commerce of Lamar County, has
presented its budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2005, and ending September 30,
2006; and,
WHEREAS, it is appropriate that said budget, attached hereto as Exhibit A, be accepted
and approved; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all
things approved.
Section 2. That the proposed budget for the Love Civic Center, Chamber of Commerce
of Lamar County, for the fiscal year beginning October 1,2005, and ending September 30,
2006, be, and the same is hereby, accepted and approved.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.

CIVIC CENTER BUDGET NOTES
INCOME
1. Civic Center's portion of motel /hotel tax from Visitor & Convention Center,
received quarterly.
2. Fees collected for rental of civic center.
3. Damage Deposits collected (returned to renter ifthere is no damage to the bldg.)
4. Fees collected for rental of kitchen and 10% fee collected from caterers.
5. Income from RV hookups
6. Income from vendors for product sales such as T-Shirts, records, CD's, etc., in
the civic center and vendors that use outside electricity.
7. Interest from checking account.
8. Miscellaneous income, vending machines and other non-line item income
9. Brick Fund is revenue from selling inscribed bricks under the Eiffel Tower.
10. Income generated from personalized signs sold for R V spaces.
CIVIC CENTER BUDGET NOTES
EXPENSE:
I. Salaries for all civic center persone!.
2. Fica and Medicare payments to federal government (7.65%).
3. Texas Workforce Commission and Futa taxes (pd. Quarterly).
4. Workers Compensation Insurance
5. Payment of staff medicaVdental/life insurance and retirement benefits.
6. Payment to the Lamar County Chamber of Commerce for bookkeeping and
clerical support.
7. Maintenance Staff overtime
8. Gas, electric and building water bills
9. Phone bill, long distance phone service, and postage expenses.
10. General Office Supplies
II. Items needed to clean the inside of Civic Center building.
12. Items purchase to maintain the inside of the building, includes trash collection,
often times includes real property improvements such as floor tile.
13. Building Insurance with Pierson and Fendley Insurance and City of Paris.
14. Items purchased to maintain civic center's grounds and maintain yard equipment.
IS. Damage deposit refunds to users
16. Purchase of any equipment needed such as lawn mower, moping machine, etc.
17. Membership dues for the East Texas Civic Center Association and Cox Cable.
18. Travel expenses when attending meetings.
19. Yearly audit.
20. Reserve for unexpected expenses (contingency).
21. Misc. expenses - items with no specific budget assignments.
22. Auto Allowance for Staff
23. Capital improvements as approved by Board.
