RESOLUTION NO. 2005-093
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
PARIS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE BID AND APPROVING AND
AUTHORIZING THE AWARD OF A PURCHASE CONTRACT TO
AIRWA VESCOMMUNICATlONSFORTHE PURCHASE OF AN ACUlOOO
COMMUNICA TIONS INTEROPERABILITY SYSTEM;
ACKNOWLEDGING THE AVAILABILITY OF GRANT FUNDS FOR THE
PURCHASE OF SAID SYSTEM; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND
PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Police Department is in need of the use of an ACU1000, the same
consisting of a communications interoperability system that allows radio frequencies of different
types to be translated and converted so that all senders and receivers may communicate with each
other; and,
WHEREAS, the police Department has prepared specifications and sought bids from
approved vendors for the purchase of said ACUl 000 communications lnteroperability system; and,
WHEREAS, the Police Department has recommended the award of said purchase to
Airways Communications on the basis of their compliance with all specifications and the low bid
of$32,553.00; and,
WHEREAS, the funding for said purchases is made available by a grant from Ark-Tex
Council of Govemments in the amount of$35,000.00, without a grant match requirement from the
City of Paris; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things
approved.
Section 2. That on the basis of bids received, the City Council does hereby find and
determine that the lowest and best bid for the purchase of an ACU1000 Communications
Interoperability System, was submitted by Airways Communications, 4801 Lamar Avenue, Paris,
Texas, in the bid amount of$32,553.00, and the City Manager shall be and he is hereby authorized
to execute and the City Clerk to attest to a purchase Agreement and any and all other documents as
are necessary associated with the purchase of the aforesaid ACU1000 communications
Interoperability System from Airways communications for use by the City of Paris Police
Department.
Section 3. That the City Council does hereby acknowledge the availability of funding for
the purchase of said system from the proceeds of a grant from the Ark- Tex Council ofGovemments
in a maximum amount not to exceed $35,000,00, without grant match required from the City of
Paris,
Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
