WHEREAS, the City Mana er has pres nted to the City Council propos s for!disannexation of
property currently located within the City Limi s of the City of Paris; and,

WHEREAS, the City Coun il desires t initiate proceedings pursuant to Cha~ter 7 of the City
Charter and Section 43.142 of the ocal Gov rnment Code to disannex two tr cts 9! land forming a
portion of the current boundaries oft e city limi s of the City of Paris as otherwise descjibed herein; and,

Section 3. That by or before June 24, 2 05, actual written notice of the C ty's jti1tent to disannex
the aforesaid areas shall be given to ach prope owner in said area proposed for disarjnexation; to each
public entity, including, but not limi ed to Lam County, the appropriate school distrjtt, as well as any
and all other public entities which wi I have to sume responsibility for certain pu lic s~rvices following
the aforesaid disannexation; and to ach railro d company, if any, that serves the munIcipality if part of
the company's right-of-way is in th areas pro osed for disannexation. !

Section 4. That the first publ c hearing r garding said proposed disannexa ion ~all be conducted
by City Council at its regular meeti g of July 5, 2005, with notice of said pub\' he#ng to be carried
on the City's internet website and t be publis ed at least once in the Paris New witJtin the time frame
beginning July 5, 2005, and ending uly 14,2 05,

Section 5. That the second public he 'ng regarding said proposed di anne~ation shall be

conducted by City Council at a speci I called eeting on August I, 2005, with oticf of said public
hearing to be carried on the City's int rnet webs te and to be published at least on e in ~e Paris News
between the time frame beginning Jul 12,2005 and ending July 21, 2005, '
Section 6. That City Counc'l shall co sider on first reading an ordin ce iCalling for the
disannexation of the aforesaid describ d Tracts 1 and 2 at City Council's regular eeti'l! of August 22,
2005, and if passed on first reading, wi h said dis exation to be considered for ap rov~lon second and
final reading at a special called meeti g of City ouncil on August 29, 2005. '
Section 7. That this resolutio shall be e fective from and after its date ofpass.ge.
