Kaufman, Paris, Texas. Present: Mayor: Steven, Cliftbrd Council Members: Aaron Jenkins; Billie Lancaster; Billy Trenado; Linda Knox; Cleorme Drake; and Paula Portugal City Staff: John Godwin, City Manager; Stephanie Harris, City Attorney; Janice Ellis, City Clerk; Gene Anderson, Finance Director; Bob Handley, Police Chief, Larry Wright, Fire Chief, and Alan Efrussy, Planning Director OgeningAi4ends Call meeting to order. Mayor Clifford called the meeting to order at 5:30 p,rn, 2. Invocation. Finance Director Gene Anderson gave the invocation. 3. Pledge of Allegiance. Council Member Drake led the pledge. 4. Citizens' Forum. Raymond Tabor, P.0, Box 444, Mt. Vernon, Texas ­ he said he understood he had to make application for a pert -nit to collect and haul solid waste inside the city. He said lie had made application and provided the required insurance inforri-tation, Mayor Clifford said this was item 10 on the agenda. Consent Agenda Mayor Clifford inquired of Council Members if they wished to Pull any items from the consent agenda for discussion, Council Member Knox expressed her appreciation to the Chamber of Commerce staff in providing the reports to Council. Accept bids and award contracts for the purchase of roadway materials to the lowest responsible bidder(s) for the twelve-month period beginning April 1, 2018. 9. Accept the bid and award the contract for the replacement of concrete curbs and gutters, driveway approaches, and reinforced concrete sidewalks to the lowest responsible bidder(s) for the twelve-month period beginning April 1, 2018. A Motion to approve this item was nude by Mayor Clifford and seconded by Council Member Trenado. Motion carried, 7 ayes — 0 nays. Regular Council Meeting February 12, 2018 Page 3 IL Discuss and act on ORDINANCE NO, 2018-004: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 01"PARIS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 12, ARTICLE 11, "LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GAS," BY REMOVING RESTRICTIONS AND LIMfTATIONS ON THE USE OF LIQUEFIED PE'rROLEUM GAS CONSISTENT WITH STATE LAW; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RE1,ATED TO THE StJBJECT; PROVIDING A REPEALER CI .,AUSE, A SEVERAIIILITY CLAUSE, A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND DECLARING AN EFFI--"CTM .-.DAT ['. City Attorney Stephanie Harris explained that in 2010 Council adopted an ordinance prohibiting the use of liquefied petrOICLI.11-1 gas within 100 feet of a natural gas distribution line, Ms. Harris informed Council that there had been changes in state law and the proposed amendment repealed the prohibition and claritied that liquefied petroleum gas was governed by the IFCG, the IFC, the IBC, and the IPC as adopted and amended by the City. A Motion to approve this item was made by Mayor Clifford and seconded by Council Member Drake. Motion carried, 7 ayes — 0 nays. 12. Consider and approve future events for City and/or City Staff pursuant to Resolution No. 2004-081. Nothing was referenced. 1 -'3.
