1997-027-RES WHEREAS, CITY COUNCIL DID HERETOFORE ON THE 15TH DAY OF JULY 1996
RESOLUTION NO. 97-027
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 15th day
of July, 1996, in Resolution No. 96-067, award the contract for the "Rehabilitation and
Painting of 2 Two Million Gallon Steel Ground Storage Water Tanks, " Project No. 92-
WSRB02-96, to CORROSION ELIMINATORS; and,
WHEREAS, the City Engineer, Earl Smith, acting as project engineer of said
project recommends the amendment of the contract for said project to modify the method
to correct ponding water on the roof of the north tank by removal and reinstallation of the
roof shell, to allow for the approved installation of up to I, 178 square inches of 1/4" steel
plate to correct severe pitting, and to provide for a net increase of $5,000.00 in the contract
price, for a total contract price of $459,913.00; and,
WHEREAS, the form of Change Order No. One, attached hereto as Exhibit A,
should, in all things be approved, and the Mayor of the City of Paris, Eric S. Clifford,
should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL 01<' THE CITY 01<' PARIS, that
the form of Change Order No. One to the contract for the "Rehabilitation and Painting
of 2 Two Million GaUon Steel Ground Storage Water Tanks, "Project No. 92-WSRB02-
96, to modify the method to correct ponding water on the roof of the north tank by removal
and reinstallation of the roof shell, to allow for the approved installation of up to 1,178
square inches of 1/4" steel plate to correct severe pitting, and to provide for a net increase
of $5,000.00 in the contract price, for a total contract price of $459,913.00, attached hereto
as Exhibit A, be, and the same is hereby, approved; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor of the City of Paris, Eric S.
Clifford, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of
Paris, said Change Order No. One under the terms and conditions and in the form shown
in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
