1997-033-RES WHEREAS, CITY ENGINEER IS IN NEED OF A VACTOR TRUCK FOR USE IN CONJUNCTION WITH
RESOLUTION NO. 97-033
WHEREAS, the City Engineer of the City of Paris is in need of a Vactor truck for use in
conjunction with the Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Survey (SSES) Project, with said truck,
equipment, and the crew assigned thereto being dedicated to such project; and,
WHEREAS, upon completion of the SSES Project, said truck, equipment, and crew shall
be incorporated into the sewer maintenance division of Public Works and shall be dedicated to
cleaning sewer Jines as necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Paris has been a member of the Cooperative Purchasing Program
through the Houston-Galveston Area Council since October 1, 1990; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that the City of Paris purchase, through said
Houston-Galveston Area Council, a Vactor sewer cleaning unit mounted on a Ford truck; and,
WHEREAS, it is further deemed appropriate that Michael E. Malone, City Manager of
the City of Paris, be authorized to execute a purchase order for a 1997 Ford L-850 I cab and
chassis with a Vactor Model 2100 combination catch basin and sewer cleaner for a total purchase
price of $157,466.73, utilizing reserve funds from the Water and Sewer Account; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the
City Manager of the City of Paris, Michael E. Malone, be, and he is hereby, authorized and
directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, a purchase order with the Houston-Galveston
Area Council for a 1997 Ford L-8501 cab and chassis with a Vactor Model 2100 combination
catch basin and sewer cleaner to be manufactured by STM Equipment, Inc., Arlington, Texas, for
a total purchase price of $157,466,73, utilizing reserve funds from the Water and Sewer Account.
