1997-153-RES WHEREAS, CITY COUNCIL DID HERETOFORE IN RESOLUTION NO 90-026 . . RESOLUTION NO. 97-153 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, in Resolution No. 90- 026, on the 12th day of March, 1990, authorize the execution of contract with the Chamber of Commerce of Lamar County, Inc. providing for the use of hotel occupancy tax funds to promote and advertise the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, the Chamber of Commerce created the Visitors and Convention Council to carry out its contractual obligations to administer the use of said hotel occupancy tax funds, and the City of Paris created the Visitors and Convention Council Work Program and Budget Approval Committee to ensure that the use of said tax funds complies with the statutory limitations; and, WHEREAS, the Mayor, the one Council Member herein appointed, and the City Manager comprise the Visitors and Convention Council Work Program and Budget Approval Committee which has final approval authority over the proposed annual program of work and budget for the Visitors and Convention Council; and, WHEREAS, the term of office of Council Member Alan Boyd, as a member of the Visitors and Convention Council Work Program and Budget Approval Committee of the City of Paris, will expire on December 31, 1997; and, WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris, Eric S. Clifford, has reappointed Alan Boyd for a term of two (2) years, beginning January 1, 1998, and ending December 31, 1999, and has submitted the name of such person to the City Council for confirmation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the reappointment of Alan Boyd, as a member of the Visitors and Convention Council Work Program and Budget Approval Committee of the City of Paris, for a term two (2) years, beginning January 1, 1998, and ending December 31, 1999, be, and the same is hereby, confirmed. Ellis, as a member of the Traffic Commission of the City of Paris, will expire on December 31, 1997; and, WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris, Eric S. Clifford, does hereby recommend the reappointment of Edward D. Ellis for a term of three (3) years, beginning January 1, 1998, and ending December 31,2000; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that Edward D. Ellis be, and he is hereby, reappointed to serve as a member of the Traffic Commission of the City of Paris for a term of three (3) years, beginning January 1, 1998, and ending December 31, 2000. RESOLUTION NO. 97-151 WHEREAS, the terms of office of Reeves Hayter, Curtis Fendley, Eva Flenniken, and Bobby L. Myers, as members of the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Paris, will expire on December 31, 1997; and, WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris, Eric S. Clifford does hereby recommend the reappointment of Reeves Hayter, Curtis Fendley, Eva Flenniken, and Bobby L. Myers for terms of three (3) years, beginning January 1, 1998, and ending December 31, 2000; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IS RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that Reeves Hayter, Curtis Fendley, Eva Flenniken, and Bobby L. Myers be, and they are hereby, reappointed to serve as members of the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Paris for terms of three (3) years, beginning January 1, 1998, and ending December 31, 2000. RESOLUTION NO. 97-150 WHEREAS, there exists a vacancy on the membership of the Library Advisory Board of the City of Paris due to the resignation of Toni Donnan, and it is necessary to appoint her successor; and, WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris, Eric S. Clifford, does hereby recommend the appointment of A. W. Clem, III to serve the unexpired term of Toni Donnan, which ends June 30, 1998; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that A. W. Clem, III be, and he is hereby, appointed to serve the unexpired term of Toni Donnan, which ends June 30, 1998, as a member of the Library Advisory Board of the City of Paris. Clifford, does hereby recommend the reappointment of Bryan Hargis as Licensed Electrical Contractor, Jerome Chapman as Registered Journeyman Electrician, Bobby Smallwood as Owner of Real Property, and Chip Harper as General Building Contractor for terms of two (2) years, beginning January 1, 1998, and ending December 31,1999; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that Bryan Hargis as Licensed Electrical Contractor, Jerome Chapman as Registered Journeyman Electrician, Bobby Smallwood as Owner of Real Property, and Chip Harper as General Building Contractor be, and they are hereby, reappointed to serve as members of the Electrical Board of the City of Paris for terms of two (2) years, beginning January 1, 1998, and ending December 31, 1999. Amis, as a member of the Fire Fighters' and Police Officers' Civil Service Commission of the City of Paris, will expire on December 31, 1997; and, WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Paris, Michael E. Malone, in accordance with the authority granted in Section l43.006(b) of the Local Government Code, has reappointed Richard M. Amis for a term of three (3) years, beginning January 1, 1998, and ending December 31, 2000, and has submitted the name of such person to the City Council for confirmation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the reappointment of Richard M. Amis, as a member of the Fire Fighters' and Police Officers' Civil Service Commission of the City of Paris, for a term of three (3) years, beginning January 1, 1998, and ending December 31,2000, be, and the same is hereby, confirmed.
