97 -117
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 9th day of
December, 1996, in Resolution No. 96-144, declare surplus and authorize the sale of part of Lot
5, Block 8, Springlake Addition, being number 217 28th Street N.E.; and,
WHEREAS, bids for said property were received until 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, September
2, 1997, and the highest bid by a responsible bidder was from Larry D. Dority and wife, Denise
J. Dority, in the amount of $10,503.00; and,
WHEREAS, the form of the general warranty deed to Larry D. Dority and wife, Denise
J. Dority, for the conveyance of said part of Lot 5, Block 8, Springlake Addition, attached hereto
as Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor of the City of Paris, Eric S.
Clifford, should be authorized to execute the same upon the date of closing, which shall occur no
sooner than thirty (30) days from the date of passage of this resolution in accordance with Section
145 of the Charter of the City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the bid
of Larry D. Dority and wife, Denise J. Dority, in the amount of $10,503.00, for part of Lot 5,
Block 8, Springlake Addition, being number 217 28th Street N.E., be, and the same is hereby,
accepted and let; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor of the City of Paris, Eric S. Clifford, be,
and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, a general
warranty deed to Larry D. Dority and wife, Denise J. Dority, under the terms and conditions and
in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto, upon the date of closing, which shall occur no
sooner than thirty (30) days from the date of passage of this resolution in accordance with Section
145 of the Charter of the City of Paris.

That the CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, a municipal corporation, of the County of
Lamar, State of Texas, by and through its Mayor, Eric S. Clifford, duly authorized, for and in
consideration of the sum of Ten and no/l 00 Dollars ($10.00) cash, and other good and valuable
consideration, in cash, to it in hand paid by LARRY D. DORITY and wife, DENISE J. DORITY,
the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, have Granted, Sold and Conveyed,
and by these presents do Grant, Sell and Convey unto the said LARRY D. DORITY and wife,
DENISE J. DORITY, of the County of Lamar, State of Texas, whose mailing address is P. O.
Box 6038, Paris, TX 75461, all that certain tract or parcel of land situated in Lamar County,
Texas, and described as follows:
SITUATED within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, County of
Lamar, State of Texas, being a part of the Hiram Williams Survey #1003, and
being that part of Lot 5, Block "8", Springlake Addition (Plat Book I, Page 89,
Lamar County Plat Records), that lies between the West Boundary Line of 28th
Street NE and the East Boundary Line of N. Collegiate Drive, said lot 5 being
conveyed to the City of Paris by deed from Johnnie Lynn Hollingshead Oats and
Patsy Bernard, dated July 30, 1986, and recorded in Volume 702, Page 26, Deed
Records, Lamar County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron pin (s) for corner at the Southeast corner of said
Lot 5;
THENCE South 89 Deg. 48 Min. 41 Sec. West along the South Boundary
Line of Lot 5 a distance of 107.6 feet to an iron pin (s) for corner;
THENCE in a Northerly direction along the East Boundary Line of N.
Collegiate Drive around a curve (R= 1100.92', C=North 3 Deg. 50 Min. 59 Sec.
West 60.12 ft.) to the right a distance of 60.13 ft. to an iron pin (s) for corner in
the North Boundary Line of said Lot 5;
THENCE North 89 Deg. 48 Min. 41 Sec. East a distance of 111.69 ft. to
an iron pin (s) for corner at the Northeast corner of said Lot 5;
THENCE South 0 Deg. 02 Min. 43 Sec. West along the West Boundary
Line of 28th Street NE a distance of 60 feet to the place of beginning.
The above field notes being taken from an actual survey made on the
ground by Jim Nelson, Registered Land Surveyor of Texas, on July 1, 1997,
reference being here made to all instruments and records for all necessary
purposes.
