RESOLUTION NO. 97-116
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 14th day of
October, 1996, in Resolution No. 96-114, declare surplus and authorize the sale of Lot 5-A, City
Block 130, being located in the 1200 block of W. Sherman Street; and,
WHEREAS, bids for said property were received until 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, September
2, 1997, and the highest bid by a responsible bidder was from Jerald N. Ensor and wife, Sherry
Ensor, in the amount of $1,760.00; and,
WHEREAS, the form of the general warranty deed to Jerald N. Ensor and wife, Sherry
Ensor, for the conveyance of said Lot 5-A, City Block 130, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should,
in all things, be approved, and the Mayor of the City of Paris, Eric S. Clifford, should be
authorized to execute the same upon the date of closing, which shall occur no sooner than thirty
(30) days from the date of passage of this resolution in accordance with Section 145 of the Charter
of the City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the bid
ofJerald N. Ensor and wife, Sherry Ensor, in the amount of $1,760.00, for Lot 5-A, City Block
130, being located in the 1200 Block of W. Sherman Street, be, and the same is hereby, accepted
and let; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor of the City of Paris, Eric S. Clifford, be,
and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, a general
warranty deed to Jerald N. Ensor and wife, Sherry Ensor, under the terms and conditions and in
the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto, upon the date of closing, which shall occur no
sooner than thirty (30) days from the date of passage of this resolution in accordance with Section
145 of the Charter of the City of Paris.

That the CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, a municipal corporation, of the County of
Lamar, State of Texas, by and through its Mayor, Eric S. Clifford, duly authorized, for and in
consideration of the sum of Ten and no/lOO Dollars ($10.00) cash, and other good and valuable
consideration, in cash, to it in hand paid by JERALD N. ENSOR and wife, SHERRY ENSOR,
the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, have Granted, Sold and Conveyed,
and by these presents do Grant, Sell and Convey unto the said JERALD N. ENSOR and wife,
SHERRY ENSOR, of the County of Lamar, State of Texas, whose mailing address is 1226 West
Sherman, Paris, TX 7546, all that certain tract or parcel of land situated in Lamar County, Texas,
and described as follows:
SITUATED within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, County of
Lamar, State of Texas, being a part of the Asa Jarman Survey #479, being a lot
conveyed the City of Paris by quit claim deed from Republic Insurance Company,
dated April 8, 1940, and recorded in Volume 257, Page 413, Deed Records,
Lamar County, Texas, being known as Lot 5-A, City Block 130 (plat not on
record), and being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron pin (s) for corner at the Southwest corner of Lot
5-A;
THENCE North 2 Deg. 02 Min. 35 Sec. West at 138.18 feet passing an
iron pin (s) for reference, and continuing on a total distance of 140.18 feet to a tree
(I) for corner at the Northwest corner of said Lot 5-A;
THENCE North 89 Deg. 48 Min. 30 Sec. East along a chain link fence a
distance of 42.02 feet to a chain link fence post (I) for corner at the Northeast
corner of said Lot 5-A;
THENCE South 2 Deg. 02 Min. 35 Sec. East along a chain link fence a
distance of 140.32 feet to an iron pin (s) for corner at the Southeast corner of said
Lot 5-A;
THENCE South 89 Deg. 59 Min. 56 Sec. West along the North Boundary
