RESOLUTION NO. 97-105 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is aware of a need for drug resistance training for minors who reside within the corporate limits of the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, the Paris Independent School District has requested a presentation of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) for one hundred seventy-six (176) days throughout the 1997-1998 school year for students in pre-kindergarten through grade 5 at the Givens, Justiss, and Aikin campuses, and the City Council is agreeable to providing such service; and, WHEREAS, the form of the Intergovernmental Agreement for Consulting Services, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor of the City of Paris, Eric S. Clifford, should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the form of the Intergovernmental Agreement for Consulting Services with the Paris Independent School District, attached hereto as Exhibit A, for a presentation of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Program for one hundred seventy-six (176) days throughout the 1997-1998 school year for students in pre-kindergarten through grade 5 at the Givens, Justiss, and Aikin campuses, be, and the same is hereby, approved; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor of the City of Paris, Eric S. Clifford, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Intergovernmental Agreement for Consulting Services with the Paris Independent School District under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto.
