WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 9th day of June,
1997, in Resolution No. 97-058, authorize an application to be made to the Office of the Governor
of the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division, for a Supplemental Texas Narcotics Control
Program Grant; and,
WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor of the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division,
has issued its Grant Award, entitled "Regional Controlled Substance Apprehension Program
Supplemental Grant, No. DB-97-N04-1059l," for the period beginning June 1, 1997, and ending
May 31, 1998, in the total amount of $34,104.00, requiring a matching contribution of
$11,368.00; and,
WHEREAS, acceptance of the same must occur within forty-five (45) days of the date of
said award, which occurred on July 31, 1997; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that the City
of Paris accept said Grant A ward and continue to improve the Regional Controlled Substance
Apprehension Program by adding the City of Bonham's participation to said program; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the
Supplemental Texas Narcotics Control Program Grant, entitled "Regional Controlled Substance
Apprehension Program Supplemental Grant, No. DB-97-N04-10591," for the period beginning
June 1, 1997, and ending May 31, 1998, be, and the same is hereby, accepted; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager of the City of Paris, Michael E.
Malone, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris,
the Grant Acceptance Notice under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A,
attached hereto.

The approved budget is reflected in the attached Approved Budget Summary. This grant
is subject to and conditioned upon acceptance of the Governor's Criminal Justice Plan
for Texas (Plan) promulgated for this specific pro~ram fund (referenced above) through
the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Divis~on. Applicable special conditions
are contained in the Plan or cited below. Total project costs must be accounted for
in accordance with the Uniform Grant and Contract Management Standards and the Plan.
GRANTEE REQUEST FOR FUNDS
All grantee requests for funds shall be submitted to CJD, to the attention of the
Accounting Department, in accordance with the instructions provided by CJD and shall be
in the form required by CJD. Requests for funds will not be honored until all special
conditions outlined on the Statement of Grant Award and that required action on the part
of the grantee have been satisfied.
FUTURE FUNDING
Approval of the above-referenced grant does not commit the Governor's Office to future
funding. Any such funding shall be determined br the state plan or guide under which
application ma~ be made, bi all applicable polic~es and procedures ~romulgated by the
Governor's Off~ce, Crimina Justice Division, and/or federal guidel~nes, and by the ap-
propriation of funds.
GRANT ADJUSTMENTS
Grantee shall submit written requests for grant adjustments, as required by the appli-
cable Criminal Justice Rule contained in the Governor'g Criminal Justice Plan for Texas
for this specific program fund.
