BACKGROUND: Approximately six months ago the Paris Fire Department made application
for an "Assistance to Firefighter Grant" through the Federal Emergency Management Agency, to
purchase and install diesel ventilation systems in the fire stations to capture diesel exhaust, which
is a cancer causing substance. Friday, July 13, 2018 we were officially notified by Congressman
Ratcliff s office that we had been awarded an $83,182.00 grant for that purchase and installation.
