RESOLUTION NO.
97-085
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 5th day of
September, 1996, in Resolution No. 96-093, authorize the holding of a public hearing to receive
input concerning the adoption of an ordinance nominating an area of the City of Paris as a state
designated enterprise zone and designating a reinvestment zone, which public hearing was held
on the 19th day of September, 1996, at 6:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Paris,
Texas; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofoTe, on the 23rd day of
September, 1996, in Resolution No. 96-101, refeT to the Planning & Zoning Commission of the
City of Paris the matter of the proposed enterprise zone for its recommendation and advice
concerning the same; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofoTe, on the 14th day of
October, 1996, in Ordinance No. 96-060, nominate an area of the City of Paris as a state
designated enterprise zone and reinvestment zone; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that the area heretofore nominated be amended to
include therewith additional property in south Paris and that a public hearing for the purpose of
receiving input concerning the amendment of the area nominated be held; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that a
public hearing be held on Thursday, August 7, 1997, at 6:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers,
City Hall, Paris, Texas, fOT the purpose of receiving input concerning the proposed amendment
of Ordinance No. 96-060 amending the area of the City of Paris therein nominated as a state
designated enterprise zone and reinvestment zone; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Mattie Cunningham, City Clerk of the City of
Paris, be, and she is hereby, directed to deliver to The Paris News legal notice of said public
hearing to be published Sunday, July 27, 1997; to post notice of said public hearing on the official
bulletin board of the City of Paris; and to provide a copy of said notice to the Texas Department
of Commerce, all of which must occur at least seven (7) days prior to the public hearing.
