1997-077-RES WHEREAS, IT HAS COME TO THE ATTENTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL THAT ASIAN REAL ESTATE
RESOLUTION NO.
97 -077
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the City Council of the City of Paris that Asian
Real Estate, Ltd. has an interest in developing affordable rental housing in the City of Paris under
the tax credit progTam offered by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs; and,
WHEREAS, due to the significant manufacturing employment based in Paris, the recent
demolition of over two hundred (200) substandard homes within the City, and the strong need for
additional affordable housing in Paris, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of
Paris that the City of Paris recommend to the Texas Department of Housing and Community
Affairs the award of housing tax credits to the Ridgeview Townhomes; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the
need for additional affordable rental housing in the City of Paris and the award of tax credits to
the Ridgeview Townhomes by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs be, and
the same are hereby, supported.
