1997-076-RES WHEREAS, CITY COUNCIL DID HERETOFORE ON THE 14TH DAY OF MARCH 1988
RESOLUTION NO.
97-076
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 14th day of
March, 1988, in Resolution No. 88-016, authorize the execution of a Contract Agreement with
Brad Gentry, dba Total Lawn Care Service, for grounds maintenance on nine (9) City of Paris
properties, same being Bywaters Park, Plaza, City Hall/CentTal Fire Station, Paris Public Library,
PJC Triangle (24th Street S.E. and Clarksville Street), Chism Memorial Park, City of Paris Police
and Courts Building, 10th Street Park, and the Cox Field Terminal area; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 12th day of
September, 1988, in Resolution No. 88-090, approve the assignment of the grounds maintenance
for the Cox Field Terminal Area to Rick Powell, Inc.; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 9th day of
January, 1989, in Resolution No. 89-002, approve the assignment of the remainder of said
Contract Agreement to Rick Powell, Inc.; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 10th day of July,
1989, in Resolution No. 89-085, authorize the execution of Addendum No. One to Contract
Agreement, providing terms for cancellation; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 10th day of
September, 1990, in Resolution No. 90-076, authorize the execution of Addendum No. Two to
Contract Agreement, amending the payment terms; and,
WHEREAS, with the recent completion of the City of Paris Aquatic Facility, it is deemed
appropriate to advertise for bids for furnishing labor, materials, and equipment and for performing
all work required for grounds maintenance on City of Paris parks and facilities in order to include
therewith the new facility; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the
City Clerk, Mattie Cunningham, be, and she is hereby, authoTized and directed to advertise for
bids for furnishing labor, materials, and equipment and for performing all work required for
grounds maintenance on City of Paris parks and facilities, said bids to be received by 3:00 p.m.,
Tuesday, August 5, 1997, and presented to the City Council, at its next regular or special
meeting, for the purpose of letting the same.
