1996-042-RES WHEREAS, CITY COUNCIL DID HERETOFORE IN RESOLUTION NO 94-110 AWARDED
RESOLUTION NO. 96-042
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, in Resolution
No. 94-110, award the contract for the Water Treatment Plant Expansion, 92WSRB03-
92 Project to ARCHER-WESTERN CONTRACTORS, LTD.; and,
WHEREAS, the City Engineer, Earl S. Smith, acting as project engineer of said
project recommends the amendment of said contract by Change Order No. Three and
,,'inal attached hereto as Exhibit" A", which provides for a net decrease in contract price
of $39,560.69 for the purpose of making modifications to Installation of Turbidity
Backwash sensor; Training Room conduit runs and wiring; lime silo control panel;
installation of additional conduit and wiring for turbidity meters, particle counters and Pratt
Actuators; extra work on a time and material basis to the Filter Building West Stairway;
extra work on a time and material basis on the existing grouted joints in the underdrain of
Filter No.1; extra work on a time and material basis for the addition of canopy to front
entryway of main building; and deleting Item 1455, patching existing asphalt; Item 17,
extra 3,000 PSI Concrete; Item 18, extra 2,000 PSI Concrete; Item 19, extra crushed stone
and extra foundation pier footage; Item 21 extra handrail; and Item 22, extra filter
underdrain, for a total of $4,806,281.37, and such form should be approved, and the
Mayor should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 01<' PARIS, that
the Water Treatment Plant Expansion, 92WSRB03-92 Project, contract is hereby
amended by Change Order No. Three and Final attached hereto as Exhibit "A",
providing for a net decrease in contract price of $39,560.69 for the purpose of making
modifications to Installation of Turbidity Backwash sensor; Training Room conduit runs
and wiring; lime silo control panel; installation of additional conduit and wiring for
turbidity meters, particle counters and Pratt Actuators; extra work on a time and material
basis to the Filter Building West Stairway; extra work on a time and material basis on the
existing grouted joints in the underdrain of Filter No.1; extra work on a time and material
basis for the addition of canopy to front entryway of main building; and deleting Item
1455, patching existing asphalt; Item 17, extra 3,000 PSI Concrete; Item 18, extra 2,000
PSI Concrete; Item 19, extra crushed stone and extra foundation pier footage; Item 21
extra handrail; and Item 22, extra filter underdrain, for a total of $4,806,281.37, which
is, in all things, approved; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor of the City of Paris, Eric S.
Clifford, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed, on behalf of the City of Paris, to
execute said Change Order No. Three and Final.
