1996-041-RES WHEREAS, CITY COUNCIL HAS BECOME AWARE OF THE REQUEST FOR A TRAFFIC SIGNAL
RESOLUTION NO. 96-041
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has become aware of the request
for a traffic signal at North Main Street (U. S. Hwy. 271 North) and Stone Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, this intersection was studied by the Texas Department of
Transportation and does meet the warrants they require, and it is perceived that the
addition of a traffic actuated signal at North Main Street and Stone Avenue would alleviate
congestion of traffic at this location; and,
WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Paris and
the travelling public for the City Council to support a project to add a traffic actuated
signal at said location which is to be installed and funded by the Texas Department of
Transportation; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that
they go on record as being in complete support of the placement of a traffic actuated signal
at North Main Street (U. S. Hwy. 271 North) and Stone Avenue; and,
BE IT li'URTHER RESOLVED, that Mattie Cunningham, City Clerk is hereby
directed to timely deliver a copy of this Resolution to Steve Ekstron, Area Engineer, Texas
Department of Transportation.
