1996-024-RES WHEREAS, TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION PROVIDES FUNDING FOR STATEWIDE TRANSPORTATION
RESOLUTION NO. 96-024
WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation provides funding for Statewide
Transportation Enhancement Program grants; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore on the 6th day of
October, 1994, in Resolution 94-126, apply for the Statewide Transportation Enhancement
Program grant for the WALKER PARK SURI<'ACE WATER RUNOFF POLLUTION AND
FLOOD MITIGATION PROJECT which said application was denied; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of processing another
application for the Statewide Transportation Enhancement Program grant for the WALKER
PARK SURFACE WATER RUNOFF POLLUTION AND FLOOD MITIGATION
PROJECT at a total cost of $304,000.00, with $243,200.00 to be provided by grant and
$60,800.00 to be provided by the City of Paris in the form of local funds; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 01<' PARIS:
1. That a reapplication be made to the Texas Department of Transportation for a
Statewide Transportation Enhancement Program grant for the WALKER PARK SURFACE
WATER RUNOFF POLLUTION AND I<'LOOD MITIGATION PROJECT in the amount
of $243,200.00, being approximately 80% of the estimated cost of said project, with the City
of Paris providing $60,800.00 in the form of local funds.
2. That Michael E. Malone, City Manager of the City of Paris, be, and he is hereby,
appointed as the Authorized Official of said project and is authorized and directed to execute on
behalf of the City of Paris the application for grant in the form attached hereto as Exhibit A.
3. That Earl Smith, City Engineer, be, and he is hereby, appointed as Project
Director and is hereby authorized to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of Paris all
reports, communications, assurances and documents necessary for the completion of said project.
4. That W. E. Anderson, Director of Finance, be, and he is hereby, authorized and
directed to serve as the Financial Officer for said project and to receive and distribute funds for
the WALKER PARK SURI<'ACE WATER RUNOFF POLLUTION AND FLOOD
MITIGATION PROJECT."
