Board of Directors Meeting,
June 18, 2018 at 4:�00 pm
Members Present: Tony Corso, Greg Wilson, Renee Harvey, John Godwin,, James Wyatt, Lisa Walker,
Brenda Wells, Jeff Nutt, Bryan Hargis, Mark Pankaj, Charley Lewis, Josh Bray and Chadlee Johnston.
Staff Present: Gina Crawford, Paul Allen and Becky Semple,
Lisa Walker called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm.
Lisa Walker introduced Paul Allen, the new Lamar County Chamber of Commerce President/CEO.
Minutes. -.-The board was given a few minutes to read the May minutes. A motion to approve was
made by Renee Harvey, seconded by Chadlee Johnston. Motion passed unanimously.
Financials were presented by Greg Wilson, a motion to approve the financials was made by Mehiir
Pankaj, seconded by Tony Corso. Motion passed unanimously.
Becky Semple presented a funding request for the Bug Tussle. They asked for $1500,00. A motion to
approve $100'0 was made by Brenda Wells, seconded by Renee Harvey. Motion passed' unanimously.
Becky Semple presented a funding request for the Church of God Restoration. They asked for $25,00.00.
A motion to approve $1950 to be paid directly to the Love Civic Center was made by Bryan, Hargis,
seconded by Tony Corso. Motion passed unanimously. It was also suggested to put a map up and have
the people mark where they are from.
John Godwin made a presentation regarding funding for lights at field 7, at the Sports Complex in Paris,
TX. This will be a means to attract and support more and larger tourniaments. Previous cost quotes
ranged from $150,000 to $200,000. However, a recent partnership between, Musco (a lighting
company) and Hargis Electric offers a chance to get the lights in place for approximately $80,000. A
discussion took place, and a recommendation was made for the VCC to pay $40,000 over a three-year
period, John Godwin will go back to the council and see if this is agreeable to them,
Paul Allen spoke and said he was glad to be here.
Greg Wilson gave a brief report that the Pump track has raised $98,000 in sponsorships with 65
sponsors.
Becky Semple gave a report on the upcoming events.
Motion, to adjourn at 4-52 was made by Chadlee Johnston.
