1996-115-RES WHEREAS, CITY COUNCIL, IN AN EFFORT TO KEEP THE TAX RATE AS LOW AS POSSIBLE RESOLUTION NO. 96-115 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, in an effort to keep the tax rate as low as possible, did budget in the 1996-1997 Budget funds to be generated from the sale of surplus property; and, WHEREAS, approximately six (6) acres of property near Lake Gibbons which is triangular in shape and has a wooded ditch in the center of the same, located on the south side ofF.M. 2820, approximately two (2) miles west of its intersection with F.M. 79, has no planned municipal use, either presently or in the foreseeable future, and it is deemed appropriate that said property be declared surplus and sold in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter of the City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that approximately six (6) acres of property near Lake Gibbons which is triangular in shape and has a wooded ditch in the center of the same, located on the south side of F .M. 2820, approximately two (2) miles west of its intersection with F.M. 79, be, and the same is hereby, declared to be surplus; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said property should be sold in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter of the City of Paris, PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of Octob~ 7tf"~~ Eric S.
