1996-108-RES WHEREAS, FOLLOWING ANNUAL INSPECTION OF COX FIELD BY FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION ~ RESOLUTION NO. 96-108 WHEREAS, following the annual inspection of Cox Field by the Federal Aviation Administration, it was mandated that the primary runway 17/35 at Cox Field be re-striped by October 31, 1996; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did heretofore, in Resolution No. 96-102, on September 23, 1996, accept Airport Project Participation Grant through the Texas Department of Transportation, Aviation Division, entitled "State Assisted Airport Routine Maintenance, TxDOT CSJ No. AMOIPARIS", to partially fund the re-striping of the primary runway 17/35, and did advertise for bids for furnishing plant, labor, materials and equipment, and performing all work required for the re-striping of said runway, which bids were received until 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, October I, 1996; and, WHEREAS, the best bid for such construction was made by AIRPORT MARKINGS OF AMERICA, INC., of Grand Prairie, Texas, and it should be awarded the bid for such construction; and, WHEREAS, the form of contract for such construction project, attached hereto as Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor of the City of Paris should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY O}' PARIS, that the bid of AIRPORT MARKINGS OF AMERICA, INC., for the runway re-striping project in the amount of $14,943.75 is hereby accepted and let conditioned upon said contractor meeting all of the terms and specifications included in the bid documents; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor of the City of Paris, Eric S. Clifford, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the contract with AIRPORT MARKINGS OF AMERICA, INC. for the re-striping of the primary runway 17/35 at Cox Field, upon the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto. Haynes, City Attorney RE-STRIPING PRIMARY RUNWAY 35/17 COX FIELD AIRPORT, PARIS, TEXAS STATE OF TEXAS ~ COUNTY O}' LAMAR ~ KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: THAT, the CITY OF PARIS, Paris, Texas, a municipal corporation, acting by and through its Mayor, Eric S. Clifford, duly authorized, hereinafter called CITY and AIRPORT MARKINGS OF AMERICA, INC., acting by and through its President, J. H. Moore, duly authorized, hereinafter called CONTRACTOR, do hereby contract and agree as follows: 1. CONTRACTOR agrees to commence and complete the construction of certain improvements in accordance with the Specifications for Re-striping Primary Runway 35117, Cox Field, Paris, Texas", attached hereto as Exhibit" A". 2. CITY agrees to pay CONTRACTOR $14,943.75 for furnishing all paint, labor, equipment, supplies and incidentals necessary to complete the construction project in accordance with the plans and specifications attached hereto as Exhibit" A " . 3.
