1996-097-RES WHEREAS, CITY COUNCIL DID HERETOFORE ON THE 13TH DAY OF JUNE 1996 DIRECTED
RESOLUTION NO.
96-097
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 13th day of
June, 1996, direct the staff to proceed with the City of Paris Fire Station 1 Project, formerly
designated as the Central Fire Station Improvement Project, and make inquiries into property
located on N, Main Street for the same; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 11th day of
July, 1996, in Resolution No. 96-066, authorize and direct the City Attorney to condemn three
(3) parcels of property located in the 1400 block of N, Main Street to be used for said City of
Paris Fire Station 1 Project; and,
WHEREAS, as permitted by Sections 75 and 76 of the Charter of the City of Paris,
there are two (2) methods available to be used for the construction of the City of Paris Fire
Station 1 in the 1400 block of N. Main Street, being the competitive bid process or by being
executed directly by the City Engineer's Department of the City of Paris in conformity with
detailed plans, specifications and estimates; and,
WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City Engineer to be available at a future council
meeting to discuss detailed plans, specifications and estimates; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the
method of construction of the City of Paris Fire Station 1 in the 1400 block of N. Main Street
be determined by the City Council after having received information from the City Engineer
concerning detailed plans, specifications and estimates for the completion of said project, which
has been heretofore authorized.
