1996-086-RES WHEREAS, CITY COUNCIL DID HERETOFORE IN RESEOLTUION NO 96-008 ON FEBRUARY 12 1996 RESOLUTION NO. 96-086 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, did heretofore in Resolution No. 96-008, on February 12. 1996, award the bid of EXPRESS LUBE, 662 Bonham Street, Paris, Texas, for furnishing of labor and materials and performing all work required for servicing City of Paris vehicles, and authorized the execution of the Vehicle Maintenance Agreement; and, WHEREAS, on August I, 1996, the agreement was canceled due to EXPRESS LUBE being unable to carry out the terms of the agreement; and, WHEREAS, the second best bid for such service was made by QUICK & E-Z LUBE, 300 Pine Bluff, Paris, Texas, and it should be awarded the bid for providing such service; and, WHEREAS, in order to provide continued vehicle maintenance service for City of Paris vehicles, the City Manager of the City of Paris did execute the Vehicle Maintenance Agreement providing such service on August I, 1996, which execution should be in all things ratified; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the bid of QUICK & E-Z LUBE, for furnishing of labor and materials and performing all work required for servicing City of Paris vehicles is hereby accepted and let, conditioned upon said contractor meeting all of the terms and specifications included in the bid documents; and, BE IT I<"URTHER RESOLVED, that the execution of the Vehicle Maintenance Agreement attached hereto as Exhibit A with QUICK & E-Z LUBE by the City Manager of the City of Paris on the 1st day of August, 1996, is hereby ratified. I II A,l ~ I I',.f.!" b",.fL , 11~ 3~, -' !.'.4J L , 1; .2.'/. - J-t-' ;0, - , , '~ 11 " I: . ~ . - . . , RESOLUTION NO. 96-085 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore in Resolution No. 96-039, authorize an application to be made to the Office of the Governor of the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division, through the Ark-Tex Council of Governments for the Safe/Drug-Free Schools & Communities Act Grant; and, WHEREAS, the Office of the governor of the State of Texas, Criminal Justice Division, through the Ark-Tex Council of Governments has issued its Grant A ward, entitled, "POLICE ATHLETIC LEAGUE" Grant No. ED-96-JO 1-10 177 for the year beginning September I, 1996, ending August 31, 1997, in the total amount of $30,933.00 requiring matching contribution of $24,408.00; and, WHEREAS, acceptance of the same must occur within thirty (30) days of the date of said award which occurred on July 8, 1996; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the citizens of Paris that the City of Paris accept said Grant Award and continue to fund a full time police officer as a coordinator for the Police Athletic League in the City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that the Safe/Drug-Free Schools & Communities Act Grant in the amount of $30,933.00, requiring matching contribution of $24,408.00, be, and the same is hereby, accepted.
