1996-078-RES WHEREAS, UNITED STATES DEPT OF JUSTICE, BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE, LOCAL LAW
RESOLUTION NO. 96-078
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice
Assistance, Local Law Enforcement Block Grants Program provides funding for local
law enforcement grants; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is desirous of processing
a grant application for computer aided dispatch equipment, installation and training
at a total cost of $109,600.00, with $98,640.00 to be provided by grant and
$10,960.00 to be provided by the City of Paris in the form of local funds and in kind
services; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY Of'
PARIS:
I. That an application be made to the United States Department of
Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance for a Local Law Enforcement Block Grants
Program grant in the amount of $98,640.00, being approximately 90% of the
estimated cost of the computer aided dispatch equipment, installation and training,
with the City of Paris providing $10,960.00 in the form of local funds and in kind
services.
2. That Michael E. Malone, City Manager of the City of Paris, be, and
he is hereby appointed as the Authorized Official of said project and is authorized
and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the application for grant in the
form attached hereto as Exhibit A.
3. That Karl Louis, Chief Paris Police Department, be, and he is hereby
appointed as Project Director and is hereby authorized to execute and deliver on
behalf of the City of Paris all reports, communications, assurances, and documents
necessary for the completion of said project.
4, That W. E. Anderson, Director of Finance, be, and he is hereby
authorized and directed to serve as the Financial Officer for said project and to
receive and distribute funds for the computer aided dispatch equipment, installation
and training project.
