1996-138-RES WHEREAS, CITY COUNCIL DID HERETOFORE
RESOLUTION NO. 96-138
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Paris, did heretofore in Resolution
95-078. on July 10, 1995, request tinancial assistance for taxiway improvements, drainage
improvements navigational aids and terminal reconstruction at Cox Field Airport, Paris
Texas from the State of Texas through the Texas Department of Transportation. Aviation
Division; and,
WHEREAS, the grant was accepted on September 19, 1995, by the execution of
the Texas Department of Transportation Airport Project Participation Agreement, TxDOT
Project No. AP PARIS 4, TxDOT CSJ No. 9601 Paris, between the State of Texas through
the Texas Department of Transportation and the City of Paris; and.
WHEREAS, the first phase of the airport improvements project is the installation
of a precast electrical transformer vault and associated electrical work; and,
WHEREAS, plans and specifications have been prepared by Hayter Engineering
for the installation of a precast electrical transformer vault and associated electrical work
with the title being given thereto of "Cox Field - Paris Municipal Airport -Airfield
Lighting Improvements", being Phase I of TxDOT Project No. AP PARIS 4, TxDOT
CSJ No. 9601 Paris, which plans and specifications are recommended for approval by the
City Engineer of the City of Paris; and.
WHEREAS, such plans and specifications should be approved and such project
should be authorized for advertisement for bids; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that
the plans and specifications for the "Cox Field - Paris Municipal Airport - Airfield
Lighting Improvements", being Phase I of TxDOT Project No. AP PARIS 4, TxDOT
No. CSJ 960lParis, be, and the same are hereby, approved; and.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that such airfield lighting improvement project
be advertised for bids to be received after due notice at the office of the City Manager of
the City of Paris. City Hall, 135 1st Street S.E.. Paris, Texas 75460, until 3:00 o'clock
p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 1997, at which time said bids will be opened in the City
Council Chamber. City Hall, 135 1st Street S.E., Paris, Lamar County, Texas, and bids
will be tabulated and presented to the City Council on the 13th day of January, 1997, for
the purpose of letting such bid.
