1996-133-RES WHEREAS, CITY COUNCIL DID ON OCTOBER 10, 1988 APPROVED A CONSTRUCTION PROJECT
RESOLUTION NO.
96-133
WHEREAS, the City council of the City of Paris did. on October 10, 1988,
approve a construction project wherein Martin Luther King. Jr. Drive is to be extended
from 6th Street N.E. west to Main Street, the planned right-of-way of which will eliminate
Lot I, Block 3, Hull Addition, which is currently owned and occupied by Jonah Lyons;
and,
WHEREAS, the City of Paris has purchased Lot 10, City Block 92. being number
714 1st Street N.E., for the relocation of Mr. Lyons, and Mr. Lyons is agreeable to
accepting said property in trade for Lot I, Block 3, Hull Addition; and,
WHEREAS, the form of the deed from the City of Paris to Jonah Lyons. attached
hereto as Exhibit A, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor of the City of Paris.
Eric S. Clifford, should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 01<' PARIS, that
Lot 10, City Block 92, being number 714 1st Street N.E., be conveyed to Jonah Lyons in
trade for the conveyance to the City of Paris of Lot I, Block 3, Hull Addition, by Jonah
Lyons, widower of Willie Mae Lyons, and heirs at law of Willie Mae Lyons; and.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the form of the deed from the City of Paris
to Jonah Lyons for property located on Lot 10, City Block 92. attached hereto as Exhibit
A, be, and the same is hereby approved; and.
BE IT HJRTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor of the City of Paris, Eric S.
Clifford, be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of
Paris, the deed to Jonah Lyons under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in
Exhibit A, attached hereto.

of Lamar, State of Texas, by and through its Mayor, Eric S. Clifford, for and in consideration
of JONAHL YONS, wido~er of Willie Mae Lyons. J. B. LYONS, GLANDEAN WILSON and
BILLY FULLER, being heirs at law of Willie May Lyons, deceased, conveying Lot I, Block 3,

consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged; have Granted, Sold
and Conveyed, and by these presents do Grant, Sell and Convey unto the said JONAH LYONS
of the County of Lamar, State of Texas, whose mailing address is 1165 5th Street N.E., Paris,
Texas 75460, all that certain tract or parcel of land situated in Lamar County, Texas, and
described as follows:
SITUATED within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, County
of Lamar and State of Texas, a part of the Larkin Rattan Survey, and being
Lot 10, City Block 92, number 714 1st Street N.E.. and described in deed
from W. H. Schaf to 1. D. Johns, dated January 30, 1908, recorded in
Volume 130, page 13, Deed Records, Lamar County, Texas, being the same
property conveyed to Marie Brembry, devisee of Joe Johns, Probate Case
No. 8232, and conveyed to C. J. Smith and Kenneth Ray Finnie, devisees of
Marie Brembry, Probate Case No. 11403, Lamar County Probate Court,
being the same property conveyed to the City of Paris by C. 1. Smith and
Shirley Ann Finnie, heir at law of Kenneth Ray Finnie, deceased, and being
more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of a lot conveyed by S. W. and
Alice Beardsley to W. H. Schaf by deed recorded in Deed Book 84, Page
218, Lamar County Deed Records;
THENCE North with the East line of Rusk Street a distance of 50 feet
to the Southwest corner of a lot conveyed by W. H. Schaf to Jack Murphy;
THENCE East a distance of 120 feet to Church Street;
THENCE South a distance of 50 feet to a stake;
THENCE West a distance of 120 feet to the place of beginning.
