Paris Public Library Advisory Board
Meeting Minutes
December 19, 2018
Opening:
The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at 4:01 p.m. by Carol
James, Chair.
Present:
Board members present were Carol James, Christina Schock, Marilyn Threadgill, Rebecca Umphrey, Denise
Kornegay and Director Priscilla McAnally. Absent were Connie Dodd and Ashley Lassiter.
• Approval of Minutes:
The minutes of the November 21, 2018 meeting were unanimously approved.
• New Business:
Staff members Louise Webb and Jerry Jarrell gave presentations on their duties and
contributions at the library.
The board approved the expenditure of $2000 to help with the cost of the replacing the roof over
the original section of the library.

• Budget Report was presented with no comments.
• Statistical Report was presented with no comments.
• Friends of the Library:
The Santa Pajama Story Time went well with approximately 57 children and adults attending.
Amanda will also be sending another newsletter soon.
• Director’s Remarks:
The library has been invited to participate in Head Start’s first Resource Fair scheduled for February
26.
The director has meetings with Ted Henderson of City Square Paris and Jason Macchia with the
Boys and Girls Club to talk about how the library’s resources can help those organizations.
