A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE
SUBMISSION OF A FLOOD MITIGATION ASSISTANCE GRANT PROGRAM APPLICATION
TO FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ACT AS THE CITY'S EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND AUTHORIZED
REPRESENTATIVE IN ALL MATTERS PERTAINING TO THE CITY'S PARTICIPATION IN
THE PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant Program, under the Federal
Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Assistance programs, assists
states and communities by providing federal funds for cost-effective measures to reduce or
eliminate the risk of flood damage to repetitive and severe repetitive loss buildings; and
WHEREAS, property located at 2597 Clark Lane, Paris, Texas is eligible for
assistance through the Flood Mitigation Assistance Program, and the owner has requested
that an application be submitted on her behalf; and
WHEREAS, The City Council hereby authorizes submission of an application for the
Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant for 2597 Clark Lane, Paris, Texas.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That a Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant application for property located
at 2597 Clark Lane, Paris, Texas is hereby authorized to be filed on behalf of the City with
the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Section 2. That the City Council directs and designates the City Manager as the
City's Chief Executive Officer and Authorized Representative to act in all matters in
connection with this application and the City's participation in the Flood Mitigation
Assistance Grant Program.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
