SUBJECT: 2013 BOND FUND — PARADISE ESTATES SEWER & SE OUTFALL MAIN
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT CLOSE OUT
DATE: February 18, 2019
BACKGROUND: The 2013 Bond Fund for Water and Sewer Improvements included funding
for the Paradise Estates Sewer & SE Outfall Main Project, which provides new sanitary sewers
to the Paradise Estates subdivision, allowing removal of 3 existing sewer lift stations, and will
also accommodate future expansion to developable properties. Neel -Schaffer Inc. and Grantham
& Associates prepared the construction drawings and specifications, and Williams Equipment
Services was awarded a construction contract in the amount of $2,211,995.30.
STATUS OF ISSUE: Williams Equipment Services has completed all work under this contract
and requests final acceptance and release of retainage upon approval by the City Council. The
final billing for work completed under this contract is $2,184,479.80. Progress payments have
been made in accordance with the contract documents, and the only remaining payment is for the
retained amount of $45,656.93.
BUDGET: Funding is available from 2013 Bond Fund for Water and Sewer Improvements.
RECOMMENDATION: Approve of the final payment and contract closeout for Williams
Equipment Services for construction of the Paradise Estates Sewer & SE Outfall Main Project.
