Paris Public Library Advisory Board
Meeting Minutes
April 17, 2019
Opening:
The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at 4:04 p.m. by Chairwoman Carol
James.
Present:
Board members present were Carol James, Ashley Lassiter, Marilyn Threadgill, Rebecca Umphrey, Connie Dodd and
Denise Kornegay. Director Priscilla McAnally and Ron Hervey were also present.
• Approval of Minutes:
The minutes of the March 20, 2019 meeting were unanimously approved.
• New Business:
Ron presented a rough draft of the Library Disaster Response Plan. Discussion followed. No action
needed.
Priscilla reported that Joyce retired March 30. Her position has been changed to a Clerk III position which
has been filled by Rosemary Balazs, whose Clerk I position job opening has been posted.
• Old Business:
Staff will begin advertising for the Adult Summer Reading Challenge this month.
• Presentations:
• Budget Report was presented for review with no comments.
• Statistical Report was presented with no comments.
• Friends of the Library:
No report
• Director’s Remarks:
Director gave updates on Board positions: Connie will reach term limits this year, Carol will be able to serve
another term, others are not up for renewal this year.
The next meeting will be May 15, 2019 at 4:00pm.
Adjournment: Meeting was adjourned at 4:25 p.m.
