11 - Automatic Barscreen Project Close OutItem No. 11 J TO: City Council John Godwin, City Manager FROM: Doug Harris, Director of Utilities SUBJECT: AUTOMATIC BARSCREEN PROJECT CLOSE OUT DATE: 06/17/2019 BACKGROUND: McInnis Brothers, Inc. was awarded the bid for installation of an automatic barscreen at the flow equalization facility during the 03/12/2018 City Council meeting. STATUS OF ISSUE: The project was substantially complete on February 1, 2019 and the equipment has been in operation since that time. Based upon inspection by City staff and the project engineer Hayter, Engineering, Inc., the project work has been completed in accordance with the contract documents. BUDGET: $51,920.71 RECOMMENDATION: Accept public improvements, release retainage, and authorize final payment to McInnis Brothers, Inc. in the amount of $51, 920.71. H AYT E R ENGINEERING. Based on the pre -final inspection, and city concurrence, we believe that the work has progressed to the point represented by the request, the quantities have been verified, and to the best of our knowledge, information and belief, the quality of the work is in accordance with the contract documents. We therefore recommend payment, contingent on council approval, in the amount of $51,920.71 as shown on the attached request. Including this request, you will have paid the contractor 100% of the contract amount and will have released all retainage. This recommendation for payment is subject to the various provisions contained in Section 14.02 of the General Conditions, and any corresponding portions of the engineering service agreement.
