A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
TEXAS APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FOR A
PROJECT SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD GRANT, GRANT NUMBER
3921101, AVAILABLE FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE
AND ADMINISTERED THROUGH THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL
NECESSARY DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Paris finds it in the best interest of
the citizens of Paris, that the Project Safe Neighborhood be operated for the
2019 / 2020; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Paris agrees that in the event of loss
or misuse of the Office of the Governor funds, the City Council of the city of Paris
assures that the funds will be returned to the Office of the Governor in full.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Paris designates John Godwin, City
Manager, as the grantee's authorized official with the power to apply for, accept,
reject, alter, or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, TEXAS;
Section 1. That the City Council of the city of Paris approves submission of
the grant application for a Project Safe Neighborhood grant to the Office of the
Governor.
Section 2. That the City Council of the city of Paris agrees that in the event of
loss or misuse of the Office of the Governor funds, the City Council of the city of
Paris assures that the funds will be returned to the Office of the Governor in full.
Section 3. That the City Council of the city of Paris designates John Godwin,
City Manage, as the grantee's authorized official.
