1994-093-RES WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has been presented a resolution of the North Lamar
RESOLUTION NO. 94-093
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has been presented a resolution
of the North Lamar Independent School District concerning the acquisition of certain lands
in the Redding Russell Survey owned by B. Hull Barbee, George Michael Barbee and
Patrick Elbert Barbee; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Paris recognizes that the acquisition of said property is
made in contemplation and settlement of a condemnation suit against said property; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, that
the acquisition of said property by North Lamar Independent School District is recognized
as a condemnation acquisition, and as such Section 23.55(1) of the Texas Property Code
applies with regard to any change in ownership for use of said property, and as such no
additional taxes for prior years shall be assessed against said property as a result of such
acquisition or the change of use of said property by North Lamar Independent School
District.
