1993-079-RES WHEREAS, the State of Texas is the owner of certain property along U.S. Highway 271 within the
RESOLUTION NO. 93-079
WHEREAS, the State of Texas is the owner of certain
property along U.S. Highway 271 within the corporate limits
of the City of Paris, Texas, said property being more
part icular ly descr ibed in Exhi bit A attached hereto,
hereinafter referred to as the State's surplus property; and,
WHEREAS, the State's surplus property is no longer
needed for the use of citizens as a road but is needed by the
City of Paris for its conveyance to landowners abutting Old
Clarksville Road to the south; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
1. That the City of Paris as owner of land abutting the
State's surplus property requests the State of Texas to
sell said land to the City of Paris for $2,548.00. The
State of Texas will reserve all of the oil, gas, sulphur
and other minerals in and under said land.
2. That the City of Paris will sell at cost and on a pro
rata basis the State's surplus property to landowners
abutting Old Clarksville Road to the south to provide
their access to U.S. Highway 271.
3. That if any landowner or landowners abutting Old
Clarksville Road to the south do not purchase access to
U.S. Highway 271, then the title to that part of the
State's surplus property will remain in the name of the
City of Paris, Texas.
4. That the City of Paris recognizes the rights of existing
utilities on or across the State's surplus property and
agrees that any utility adjustments will be at no
expense to the State of Texas.
5. That this resolution shall take effect immediately in
accordance with the Charter of the City of Paris and it
is accordingly so resolved.

Being a triangular strip of land used for a Park, lying
between the north line of the Old paris-Clarksville Road and the
south line of existing U. S. Highway No. 271 and being situated
in the Joseph Leach H.R.S. in the City of Paris in Lamar County,
Texas.
BEGINNING at a point in the south right-of-way line of
existing U. S. 271 (Clarksville Street), said point being a
distance of 50.0 feet radially from approximate centerline
survey station 90+30 of said existing U. S. Highway No. 271
(Clarksville Street),
THENCE in a northeasterly direction along a curve to the
left with a radius of 5421.56 feet, a distance of 510.0 feet to
a point in the south right-of-way line, said point being a
distance of 50.0 feet radially from approximate centerline
survey station 95+35.3 of said existing U. S. Highway No. 271
(Clarksville Street),
THENCE along said right-of-way line N 72. 09' E a distance
of 53.9 feet to a point,
