A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS,
DESIGNATING A QUALIFIED PERSON TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF THE
OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND
PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, John Godwin has resigned the office of City Manager effective August 19,
2019;
WHEREAS, on this same date, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2oi9-028
accepting the resignation of Mr. Godwin from the position of City Manager; and
WHEREAS, Section 22 of the City Charter provides that during an absence or
disability of the City Manager, the City Council may designate a properly qualified person to
perform the duties of the office; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that Gene Anderson is such a qualified
individual;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby
in all things approved.
Section 2. That the City Council hereby designates Gene Anderson as Interim
City Manager to perform the duties of the office of City Manager with the accompanying
authority of that office until further notice.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective immediately upon passage.
