1993-111-RES WHEREAS, the City Council has been made aware of Lone Star Gas Company's need of assistance in
RESOLUTION NO.
93-111
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did
heretofore in Resolution No. 93-108 authorize an application
to be made to the Office of the Governor of the State of
Texas, through its Criminal Justice Division grant number
DB-92-B04-07089 for the purpose of funding a full time police
officer as a coordinator for the Police Athletic League; and,
WHEREAS, the Office of the Governor of the State of
Texas has issued its Grant Award, entitled, "Police Athletic
League" for the year beginning October 1, 1993, ending
September 30, 1994, in the total amount of $27,071 .00
requiring matching contribution of $6,769.00; and,
WHEREAS, acceptance
(30) days of the date
November 2, 1993; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the
citizens of Paris that the City of Paris accept said Grant
Award and continue to improve the juvenile crime prevention
program aimed at reducing juvenile crime, illegal drug use
and criminal gang activity in the City of Paris; NOW,
THEREFORE,
of the same must occur within thirty
of said award which occurred on
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
that the City Manager of the City of Paris, Michael E.
Malone, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to
execute on behalf of the City of Paris, the Grant Acceptance
Notice in the form of Exhibit A attached hereto.

GRANTEE ACCEPTANCE NOTICE
AGREEMENT:
That whereas City of Paris ,
hereinafter referred to as Grantee, has heretofore submitted a grant application to the Governor's Office,
State of Texas, entitled Police Athletic Il'''e:ue ,
and further identified by grant number DB-92-B04-07089; and
Whereas, the Governor of the State of Texas has approved thl( ..!:rant aj)plication as evidenced by the
Statement of Grant Award from the Governor's Office dated NOV 0 2 --g93 , which contained
certain special requirements; and
Whereas, the Grantee desires to accept the grant award, the Uniform Grant and Contract Management
Standards, and special requirements as evidenced by the Statement of Grant Award;
Now, therefore, the Grantee accepts the aforementioned Statement of Grant Award, the Uniform Grant
and Contract Management Standards and special requirements in the grant application and the Statement of
Grant Award as evidenced by the agreement, executed by the project director, the financial officer, and the
official authorized to sign the original grant application, or the official's successor, as presiding officer of
and on behalf of the governing body of this grantee; and
Now, therefore, the Grantee shall designate either the project director or the rmancial officer to
coordinate and be solely responsible for submission of adjustments pertaining to both program and
rmancial elements of the application, and the POSmON authorized to submit adjustments

NON-WBBYING CERTIFICATION:
We, the undersigned, certify that none of the grant funds, regardless of their source or character,
including local cash assumption of cost funds, shall be used in any manner to influence the outcome of any
election or the passage or defeat of any legislative measure.
A fmding that a grantee has violated this certification shall result in the immediate termination of funding
of the project and the grantee shall not be eligible for future funding from the Governor's Office,
Criminal Justice Division.
