SUBJECT: EXECUTIVE SEARCH FIRMS
DATE: September 18, 2019
BACKGROUND: At the August 26, 2019 Council meeting, the Council directed that
appropriate firms be contacted and requested to submit proposals for executive search and
selection services regarding the vacant city manager position. Notice was published in the Paris
News August 30t" and September 6t" and five selected firms were notified by email.
STATUS OF ISSUE: The City received proposals from all five of the selected firms. Those
proposals are included in your meeting packet.
BUDGET: Fees and the scope of services vary somewhat between firms, but the cost of the
search should run between $23,000 and $28,000.
RECOMMENDATION: Receive presentations/possibly act on proposals from executive search
firms.
