Paris Public Library Advisory Board
Meeting Minutes
September 18, 2019
Opening:
The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order at 4:03 p.m. by Chairwoman Carol
James.
Present:
Board members present were Carol James, Melanie Loughmiller, Ashley Lassiter, Rebecca Umphrey, Marilyn Threadgill
and Denise Kornegay. Director Priscilla McAnally was also present. Christina Schock was absent.
• Approval of Minutes:
The minutes of the August 21, 2019 meeting were unanimously approved.
Citizen Forum:
No one from the public was in attendance.
• New Business:
None
• Old Business:

Director reported that the new security gates are in and will be installed within 2 weeks. Also, the 1
Street wall mural is in progress and should be completed tomorrow. The deck is complete and in use. The
Paris Fire painting has been returned to the library and is waiting for maintenance to hang it.
• Presentations:
• Budget Report was presented for review with no comments.
• Statistical Report was presented with no comments.
• Friends of the Library:
No report
• Director’s Remarks:
Director reported that the city book club met at Oak Park and chose 3 books to read over the next 3 months.
Meetings will continue to be on Fridays at 2:00 monthly.
The next meeting will October 16, 2019 at 4:00pm.
