1992-026-RES WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore in Resolution No. 91-095, authorize the
RESOLUTION NO. 92-026
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did
heretofore in Resolution No. 91-095, authorize the process of
a grant preapplication for a Raw Water Transmission Main
between Pat Mayse Lake and City of Paris Water Treatment
Plant under the Public Works and Economic Development Act of
1965, being Public Law 89-163, as amended; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Paris was thereafter inyited to
make application for a grant in the amount of $1,500,000.00
to fund a portion of the cost for said Raw Water Transmission
Main with the balance of the funding to be provided by bond
funds and in kind services; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS:
1. That an application be made to the U. S. Department
of Commerce Economic Development Administration for a grant
in the amount of $1,500,000.00, being approximately 29.7% of
the estimated cost of the Raw Water Transmission Main from
Pat Mayes Lake to City of Paris Water Treatment Plant, with
the City of Paris providing $3,550,000.00 in kind services
and funds.
2. That Michael E. Malone, City Manager of the City of
Paris, be, and he is hereby appointed as the Authorized
Representative of said project and is authorized and directed
to execute on behalf of the City of Paris the formal
application for grant in the form attached hereto as Exhibit
A, and to accept such grant in the event that the same is
offered.
3. That Earl Smith, P.E., City Engineer, be, and he is
hereby appointed as Project Director and is hereby authorized
to execute and deliver on behalf of the City of Paris all
reports, communications, assurances and documents necessary
for the completion of said project.
4. That W. E. Anderson, Director of Finance, be, and
he is hereby authorized and directed to serve as the
Financial Officer for said project and to receive and
distribute funds for purposes of constructing a Raw Water
Transmission Main to Pat Mayes Lake.
