WHEREAS, the City of Paris, County of Lamar, Paris
Independent School District and the Paris Junior College
District did jointly bring a suit for collection and did
foreclose their joint tax lien in Cause No. 46240 in the 6th
Judicial District Court of Lamar County, Texas, styled "City
of Paris, County of Lamar, Texas, Paris Independent School
District and Paris Junior College District VS. Fannie Fisher,
also known as Fannie Fisher Jackson and J. R. Hickman"; and,
WHEREAS, Sheriff's Sale was had of said Lot 6, Block 4,
Washington Heights Addition, and there being no bidders, the
same was bid in by the County of Lamar as trustee for the
taxing parties; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Paris has approved a project of
construction wherein Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive is to be
extended from 6th Street N.E., west to North Main Street, the
planned right of way of which will eliminate Lot 7, Block 2
of the Phillip Margraves Addition No. 2 as an acceptable
building lot, which lot is currently owned by Frankie
Featherston; and,
WHEREAS, Frankie Featherston is agreeable to accepting
Lot 6, Block 4, Washington Heights Addition together with
cleaning and grading of the same in trade for said Lot 7;
and,
WHEREAS, said Lot 6, Block 4 Washington Heights Addition
will be upgraded to a building lot upon which Frankie
Featherston desires and intends to place a new Jim Walkers
Home which will upgrade the neighborhood and place said lot
in an active status on the tax rolls of the several joint
owner tax entities; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT JOINTLY RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF PARIS, COUNTY OF
LAMAR, PARIS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT AND PARIS JUNIOR
COLLEGE DISTRICT, that Lot 6, Block 4 of the Washington
Heights Addition be conveyed to Frankie Featherston in trade
for the conveyance of Lot 7, Block 2 Phillip Margraves
Addition No. 2 being conveyed by said Frankie Featherston to
the City of Paris.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said
execute a deed in the form of Exhibit A
which form is hereby approved.
