1991-127-RES WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris supports the Housing Authority of the City of Paris, Texas,
RESOLUTION NO. 91-127
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris supports
the Housing Authority of the City of Paris, Texas, in their
application to The Department of Housing and Urban
Development for 50 assisted housing units designated for low
income elderly persons; and,
WHEREAS, as the population ages the need for subsidized
housing for the elderly increases; and,
WHEREAS, at the current time the City of Paris does not
have any low rent public housing designated for the elderly;
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
that the City of Paris supports the Housing Authority of the
City of Paris, Texas, in this effort. Their application
addresses a need of an important segment of the community and
creates housing opportunities for the low income elderly
citizen of Paris; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk of the City
of Paris, Mattie Cunningham, be, and she is hereby directed
to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the
Housing Authority of the City of Paris, Texas.
