RESOLUTION NO. 91-123
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did
heretofore, in Resolution No. 91-019, award the contract for
WASTEWATER COLLECTION SYSTEM REPLACEMENT LINES, SOUTHEAST
LIFT STATION AREA, PROJECT No. 88-WSRB-11-90 to Atkins
Brothers Equipment Co., Inc.; and,
WHEREAS, the City Engineer, Earl Smith, and Reeves
Hayter, Hayter Engineering, Inc., acting as project engineer
of said project recommends the amendment of said contract by
Change Order No. One and Final attached hereto as Exhibit
"A", which provides for a net increase in contract price of
$56,591.00 for a total of $511,577.00 for adjusting as-built
quantities from as-bid quantities, and such form should be
approved, and the Mayor should be author ized to execute the
same; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
that WASTEWATER COLLECTION SYSTEM REPLACEMENT LINES,
SOUTHEAST LIFT STATION AREA, PROJECT No. 88-WSRB-11-90,
contract is hereby amended by Change Order No. One and Final
attached hereto as Exhibit "A", providing for a net increase
in contract price of $56,591.00 for a total of $511,577.00
for adjusting as-built quantities from as-bid quantities,
which is in all things approved; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor of the City of
Paris, George Fisher, be, and he is hereby authorized and
directed on behalf of the City of Paris to execute said
Change Order No. One and Final.

CHANGE ORDER NUMBER 1 AND FINAL
Justification:
1. The project was originally bid to have existing asphalt
streets which were open cut during the installation of a
replacement sewer main or service line to be repaired with
asphalt. In order to stay consistent with the policy of the
public works department this repair item was changed from
asphalt repair to concrete repair (Bid items *25, 26, and 43).
2. Examination of the manhole rehabilitation bid items (Bid items
#32 thru 42) compared to manhole replacement bid item (Bid
item #41) indicated it would be less expensive to replace four
manholes scheduled for rehabilitation.
3. Line rerouting due to existing underground utilities and line
extensions in order to provide service same as existing made
necessary the addition of five new manholes (Bid items #12 and
13) .
4. The remainder of the quantity adjustments revise the "as bid"
quantities to "as-built" quantities. These adjustments are
brought about in general by minor adjustments in routing due
to the locations of existing underground utilities or field
changes due to other unforseen conditions.
